Alan Schroepfer
My History
Raised in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Alan Schroepfer left home after high school to travel the country and the world. He landed in Maui in 1996 and it has been home ever since. He began his extensive training in the healing arts at the Maui Academy of Healing Arts School of Massage, in which he graduated from in 1998. He has since continued his education extensively in many other aspects of energy and bodywork, most notably his work and skill in CranioSacral Therapy.
As Alan’s desire to further his skill set and knowledge grew over time, he returned to Minnesota for four years to be with family as he earned a Master’s Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from the American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Combining over 15 years of healthcare studies and work experience, Alan offers an authentic and integrative approach to his work.
Over the last twenty years, he has been a massage therapist and acupuncturist in Four and Five-Star Spas in Maui, Hawaii such as the Fairmont Kea Lani and Four Seasons. In addition to working beside a number of Chiropractors on Island and in Minnesota, Alan is an instructor of Thai Massage and Acupressure at the Maui Academy of the Healing Arts. He founded Akamai Acupuncture in 2011 and later with Sara, wife & business partner, started 808 Wellness in 2016. Drawing from his years of bodywork and energy therapy work, he customizes an individual healing regiment integrating acupuncture, massage, counseling, and Chinese herbs. He strives to aid the body in healing itself by bringing his patient’s back to their natural state of optimum health.

“Through many years of practice in the healing arts, I have learned the great importance wellness and well-being have in a person’s life. This understanding motivates me to help others overcome health issues, chronic pain, acute conditions, and trauma through treatments utilizing acupuncture, herbs, bodywork, and nutrition in a safe and effective way to maximize healing and maintain the body, mind, and spirit.
“Always striving for further knowledge, excellence in service, and patient education, I care to provide a positive healing experience with each and every healing session. I am always open to and wonder what I may learn from my next patient. Drawing from the immense healing energy of Hawaii all work is done with compassion and love…or as we say on Maui, ‘with Aloha.’”
